Type Locality and Naming

Named after the Sangal't River, Gissar Ridge. V. D. Saltovskaya, 1969 (403, p. 44). Stratotype in the valley of the Zidda River.

Synonym: Sangal't Suite, Сангальтская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Oolitic and organogenic limestones. Thickness 100-150m.

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Yakarchin Fm

With upper Visean-lower Serpukhovian foraminifers - Eostaffella mosquensis Viss., Asteroarchaediscus baschkiricus (Kres. et Theod.), A. ovoides Raus., Neoarchaediscus sp., Tetrataxis gigas Brazhn.; brachiopods - Productus consinnus Sow., Eomarginifera schartimiensis Jan.
